It may arrive dinged up from shipping and requires some assembly, but the one-page instruction sheet is not entirely clear about how to open it. You must know that it requires 4 AAA batteries and that they need to be inserted into the number dial by twisting it off. You must also connect a wire from the back of the number dial to the safe BEFORE inserting the batteries, and if the connection seems too short, you can free up some additional wire by loosening the screws that hold the plate on to the safe. Tech support at Hollon is great, and everything works as it should, but the instruction sheet could be more helpful.
