Adafruit LED Lamps 1621 Editorial Review
The White LED Backlight Module has received mixed reviews from customers. One user soldered wires to each pin and added an on/off switch with a 3V coin battery, and after 6 months of usage, it is still going strong. However, the product does not come with a battery box or power source and requires a 3VDC, 20mA power source. While it is advertised as a backlight module for AV and office equipment, it is not waterproof and has a brightness of 80 cd/m2 typical, emitting a 4000K light. Some users found it to be too thick to fit inside a PS5 to backlight the logo, while others found it to be a bit dim, but of good quality overall. One user also mentioned that the light spreads unevenly from one diode, although it is better than EL Panels. Another user had to cut the module down with a dremel to fit their specific needs.
