Xypex Contact Cements Editorial Review
Xypex Concentrate is a concrete waterproofing product that is simply mixed with water and applied as is on the surface. The product already contains some Portland Cement in it, so it doesn't need any other additives. The product works by entering the pores of the concrete surface, so it cannot be applied on top of hydraulic cement, coatings, paints or laitance. The ideal coverage thickness is 1/16 in. When applied at this rate, one pound mixed with the recommended amount of water can cover 6 square feet. Customer experience with Xypex Concentrate has been mixed. While the product works well in waterproofing concrete surfaces when applied correctly, users have noted that the packaging is smaller than the standard Xypex product, even though it is marketed as the same product.
