This violin is a hit with kids, especially for first-time players. The quality, sound and sturdiness of the instrument is great for the price range. However, a few customers struggled to get any sound out of the instrument with the included rosin cake, and discovered that the rosin needs some preparation to work perfectly. The product comes with extra strings, but you may have to tune them as some customers have reported that the tuning knobs don't hold their position, making it impossible to tune. Additionally, the bridge is not attached to the body of the violin, which some users found inconvenient. It's advised to go for a 3/4 or 4/4 size for a 5th-grade student.
