The cover should be installed onto an electrical box that has been installed into the siding, and it does not come with outlets, so outdoor GFI's will need to be ordered separately. The front cover can easily be removed by putting index fingers in the two holes at the bottom of the unit and pulling forward. Customers who have purchased this product have reported that it is waterproof and can withstand rain, but it may not be suitable for use in areas with sprinklers or flooding. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not currently offer this product in brown, although they do have a single outlet in brown.
