Sky Watcher Reflectors S11740 Editorial Review

The Sky Watcher Flex-Tube 300P is a highly recommended product for experienced skygazers who prefer the convenience of portability and precise aim. With a computerized scope, it is easier to learn the night sky, use long exposure camera setups, and find fast-moving objects like asteroids. The telescope is well-made, with major components being made of metal, a smooth telescoping assembly that makes it easier to handle, and a removable dust cover. The telescope is heavy, though, making it slightly difficult to move around, and the particle board base is fragile. The collimation must be attended rigorously but can be done quickly and easily with a laser collimator. A few users found the finder to go out of adjustment after transportation, making this product not ideal for beginners. With a price tag of $2400, some questions arose about why it's so costly when the same product is available for under $800. Experts say buyers should buy from authorized dealers to save money on this highly priced product.
