This Calcium Chloride is a liquid form and it comes in a 2 oz clear PET plastic Boston round bottle with a Yorker spout cap. It does not have any added preservatives. It is not very sweet, so the tofu made with it may taste a little less sweet than usual. It can replace the calcium balance in heat-treated or late lactation milk, allowing the rennet to work more effectively and producing a firmer curd set. The recommended usage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of milk, diluted into 1/4 cup cool water. Customers have used this product successfully for making dairy products like cottage cheese and goat cheese. One customer used it for making tofu and found that the tofu came out a little less sweet but as firm as when using Nigari. However, there have been some complaints about the packaging.
