The Portland Design Works Alexander Graham Bell is a compact and attractive bike bell that replaces a 10mm spacer in the headset stack. It is made in Taiwan and fits standard 1 1/8” steerer tube. While it can't be mounted on handlebars, it works great in alerting hikers ahead without being alarming or annoying. It has a melodious sound that can be heard from far off down the bike trail. The bell is well-made and lasts long. It is small and classy and receives compliments from other riders. However, some users find that it rusts easily and for left-handed riders, it may require adaptation as the tab you press down and release to ring the bell is parallel to the ground when properly installed, causing some inconvenience. **
