The DuraVent Snow Splitter is a heavy-duty, two-piece Construction made to protect against heavy sliding snow from pushing against the chimney. The cricket should be sufficient to protect a broad base boot that measures 25" wide. It works best for metal roofs and steep pitches, and to better fit, it can be trimmed with tin shears where the ribs are. The cricket is easy to install, even without instructions. However, it cannot be installed vertically on the side of the house, and installing it above the vent pipe requires contact with the company before purchasing. The customers were satisfied overall with their purchase, with some experiencing difficulty with installation due to the product not being as described on the website.
