It is possible to make a single espresso by either filling the basket with less coffee or by purchasing a smaller filter basket. The water chamber is plastic. This machine does not have the ability to back flush for cleaning purposes. A bottomless or non-pressurized filter can be used. Capresso was originally created in the USA and was later took over by Jura. Customer reviews are mixed. Some customers report issues with the pump failing after only two months of usage and the machine only producing half a shot before turning blonde, regardless of the grind. However, others report a positive experience, with the machine being easy to use, well-built, having a heavy stainless steel portafilter and having enough space between the dripping tray and the portafilter to put a digital scale and 12oz coffee cup. The steam wand is comfortable to use and long enough to froth milk easily. It uses less water to brew and steam than the Capresso EC50.
