MXR Distortion & Overdrive M115 Editorial Review
MXR Distortion III is a versatile pedal with a unique red exterior that offers smooth overdrive capabilities, making it appealing to musicians seeking rich tonal variety. Users have praised its ability to enhance sound without becoming overly saturated, even at maximum settings. It showcases a robust build and operates on a 9-volt battery, making it a practical choice for performances. Some reviewers noted its warm and round distortion, mentioning that dialing in tone can yield interesting sounds reminiscent of styles like Stevie Ray Vaughan. This pedal effectively boosts volume, providing a substantial mid-range presence, though some users found it less suited for high-gain demands.
