The EcoPure EPU2L Replacement Water Filter is a certified filter for standards 42 and 53 for the reduction of sediment, chlorine taste and odor, cysts and lead. This carbon block filter fits most major brands of housings designed for standard 2.5"x10" drinking water filter cartridges. It is adequate for supplying a refrigerator ice maker and/or water dispenser but not for full flow at a faucet. The filter flow capacity may be restricted by the tiny holes on the end caps, but it is a sign that your filter may need to be replaced when pressure drop occurs. Customer reception of this product has been mixed. Some customers find it to be a very good product compared to its competitors, and it works well with no taste and flows more water through it than the GE brand filter. Others found that it absolutely kills water flow and is too short, does not seal properly and rattles around in the housing. However, it is an excellent value replacement for the GE filters.
