It can also be used with non-arduino boards if programmed with Arduino IDE and proper adjustments are made. However, it is only recommended to run four DC motors and a servo at the same time with this shield. The board is I2C and can be stacked with another shield to run up to eight motors. It is important to note that the header pins need to be soldered on before the board can be used. Customers generally enjoyed using this shield and found it worked great as described. The shield was used to control motors for sim racing vibration seats and fans for simhub. One review did mention that the libraries are not great and it was hard to set RPMs that weren't integers.
