The Z9 Eye Cup Eyepiece is an updated version designed to replace the Nikon DK-33 Eye Cup. One customer stated that it works great and is much better than the original version that kept falling off, while another customer said that it cuts down on the amount of light that gets in and doesn't like any distractions. However, one customer found it bothersome to turn the cup when going into a vertical shooting position. Another customer had been waiting for this product and was grateful for the added softness and ambient light protection for shooting videos. The product fits properly and works as described. One customer praised the improvements immediately after removing the new eye cup from the box, especially the added "ridge" around the plastic connector that seems to hold the cup in place. The rubber on the new eye cup can be stiff in cold temperatures but is overall good.
