The traction pad works well on a foam board with a textured surface when prepped with rubbing alcohol before applying. It also adheres to a soft top, but may not stick well to certain types of fabric. The front pad is completely flat and meant to be used on the deck of a surfboard to give the front foot better traction than wax.
