The inserts come in blue, and their built-in pump is powered by a rechargeable battery, which inflates and deflates the mattress. However, the dimensions of the inserts do not align with the mattress's dimensions, and the velcro pieces don't connect, making them unsuitable for use outside of the bed. Customers who used them to fill the wheel well gap when camping found them useless, as they don't stay in place and pop out with any amount of weight on the mattress. On the positive side, some customers found the inserts flexible enough to use in bed and firm enough to use as stand-alone cushions, while others appreciated that they are offered as an add-on, although they wished they integrated into the main mattress for ease of use.
