The Dual Battery Smart Isolator DEWINNER is a voltage-sensitive relay designed for use in ATV, UTV, boats, RVs, campers, 5th wheels, and off-road vehicles. The device is designed to detect the charge voltage from both batteries, and there is an LED on the face that is on when the unit has closed the circuit. The device should measure voltage at the batteries without regard to where the voltage is coming from. Some customers reported that the LED light does not work, and the unit did not work out of the box. One customer installed a second battery in a boat to isolate the starting battery from the accessories battery and claimed that it worked perfectly. Another customer used the device in a UTV, and it allowed the auxiliary battery to charge when the starter battery is at 12.3 V, killing two batteries in three months. Some customers took issue with the device being made in China and claimed that it did not work. The device should be installed with a fuse or other circuit protection right at the positive terminal of any battery.
