The 2.7V 500F Capacitor Farad Capacitor is a product that has received mixed reviews. Although the product meets the technical expectations of the customers, there seem to be issues with its capacity and charging capabilities. One customer had trouble getting a charge and holding it in the capacitor. Another customer reports that the capacitor doesn't match the capacity of older ones they have and thus are mismatched. One customer created a bank of 12 of these to harvest the small amounts of energy from a wind turbine then stepped up via a buck converter when the wind is not adequate to reach charging voltage, and although the idea worked reasonably well, they mention that the leakage current of the devices was a bit disappointing. The product seems to be aimed primarily at electronics hobbyists and those looking to experiment with capacitor technology.
