However, the grip fits a bit loosely on the smaller-than-normal steam deck thumbsticks, as it spins with little resistance if twisted. Users cannot use the thumbstick grips without the plastic grip base, as the base is needed to keep the grip in place on the thumbstick. The thumbstick grip pack includes four Catalyst grips of smaller surface area than regular analogs and two universal thumbstick grip bases. According to user reviews, these grips feel like good quality, offer multiple caps, come at a better value. They don't impede the stick movement at all and won't come off in gameplay. However, they tend to slip around the fingers, making them unsuitable for intense match gaming. Furthermore, the small surface area of the gripe makes them unusable for people who prefer larger designs. They are well-made and have a great feel to them. However, as with any rubber-made products, they might have a slippery surface when first installed, but this mends as one continues to use them.
