The Smokehouse Products Little Chief Top Load Electric Smoker in silver is easy to use and good for beginners to learn how to smoke fish and meat. However, customers should be aware that it is not a low temperature smoker and takes less than two hours to smoke two trays of salmon. It also doesn't smoke cheese very well, even though there are instructions on how to do so. The wood chips need to be changed every 40 minutes and the ashes need to be emptied out. The actual footprint of the smoker is less than 200 square inches, but overall cooking surfaces, being four racks, is closer to 800 sq. inches. Although the product is affordable, the temperature in the smoker is not Consistent enough for some, the screws come off easily, and the temperature doesn't go over 200°. Some customers have had issues with their products, such as a short and potential heating-element trips, but have received good customer service. Some customers have been disappointed that it is more of a dehydrator than a smoker, and the company does not offer returns.
