This is a remake of the original game with slight improvements, such as solid plastic furniture rather than cardboard based ones and all plastic dice. The game has a simpler mechanic, making it enjoyable and easy-to-play for RPG game beginners as well as seasoned nerds. The new design of the game pieces enhances the experience and the quality of the whole set is very satisfying. The game can be played with others, taking up some time to complete a quest or level. However, some people find it boring to set up and play. There are mixed opinions regarding whether the game can be played solo, but as of now, this expansion has not been added to the HeroQuest app, and it cannot be used with the original game, because the overlays are now bigger than the originals. Nonetheless, the game has received several positive reviews highlighting the quality of pieces and the amount of figures and accessories it comes with.
