The fitting is not approved for use with air compressors. The OD of the pipe determines the cap to use. The fittings are not compatible with gray polybutylene water lines. Reviewers have praised the fitting for how easy it is to install and for temporary usage when undertaking repairs. One remote possibility described in the review is an incredibly difficult installation, possibly because of failure to deburr the pipe being capped. Some also found securing a tight seal tricky, but using the SharkBite release tool resolved the issue.
