The S Series is appropriate for aquariums up to 20 gallons, with a flow rate of 92 GPH, making it suitable for smaller tanks. The filter comes with two types of filters: bio-carb and bio-clear, which need to be replaced each time, but this isn't as bad as you might think, and it's not expensive either. The filter is also customizable, as you can use your own bagged filters so long as they are slim enough to fit into the filter. One of the best things about the Marina S Series is its adjustable flow, which is great if you have fish that don't like high currents, like Betta fish. Also, this feature allows you to control the pressure of the water flow and keeps your Betta from getting thrown around because the filter is too strong. However, there are some downsides to the Marina S Series. Some customers have reported problems with vibration and noise, while others have problems fitting it to their tank, due to its size. Some other customers find that the motor for it is on the outside of the filter and inside the tank, where the water intake valve is.
