Selkirk Ducting Editorial Review
The SELKIRK Corp DSP6DK-1 Damper Kit is a six-inch metal damper that is installed above the stove. It is double-walled and can be placed directly on top of a wood stove. However, it is not a cast iron damper and cannot be squished to fit oval openings. Customers have used this as a secondary damper for their country hearth wood burner and have had success with complete burns using triple wall pipe after the double wall pipe to the ceiling. The damper does not fit round pipes well and has a small female end. It is not recommended for use where cold air is coming down from the chimney as the damper only assists with draft control. Overall, customers who have used this product have had positive experiences with it. However, it is important to note that the damper is not a solution for cold air coming down from the chimney and should only be used for draft control.
