The team at Geekworm recommends using a 1.5mm copper heat sink with the thermal paste instead of using the provided thermal pads. The case is made of aluminum alloy, and the signal strength for on-board WiFi has not changed significantly. However, the Bluetooth connectivity is decrease in the enclosed metal case. The size of the box is not matched a bit, and SD Card may be blocked by the case and inaccessible, but it is usable. Copper heat sinks improve the cooling performance by 5-10 degrees, and it is usable for lightweight projects that do not need fans to prevent overheating, but it may outperform with fans. The build quality is excellent, and the passive cooling system maintains low CPU temperatures even with heavy usage. However, one receives slight cooling difference with FLIRC cases, which is crucial if thermal performance matters. The case is hefty and efficient in dumping heat, but the processor runs a few degrees warmer than the Vilros metal case with a fan. You'll get an armored case that will withstand rugged handling, but the QC is mediocre. The case is useful for lightweight Pi projects but can pose difficulty when ejecting the SD card. The signal strength gets affected by Bluetooth connectivity, signal strength, installation environment, and the quality of the signal. The copper heat sink is 15x15x0.8mm in dimensions, and the thickness of the included thermal pad is about 1.5mm.
