Sikaflex Self Leveling Sealant is a polyurethane-based sealant that is heat-resistant, paintable, and has an accelerated curing capacity—making it ideal for sealing horizontal expansion joints in concrete. Although it is primarily used for wide joints in concrete around pools and in expansion joints, it is versatile enough to be used in sloped driveways, crack filling, and even roadway projects. The product should be used in a thin application, either with foam joint material or sand below it, and typically is only 1/4 to 1/2" thick. Customers have also advised waiting for it to start to set, then cover the surface with fine washed sand (no dust) to give it a better appearance and to extend its life beyond what it would be without some UV protection. Don't be fooled by the packaging, though. It takes a special gun applicator to apply this to the concrete, so make sure you have the right equipment before purchasing. The 29 oz canisters are better suited for bigger jobs, so buy accordingly. Overall, customers love this product because it easily fills in gaps and crevices to seal water from going into cracks. The value is great, and it's the same price as the big box store but delivered right to your door.
