The HOPLEX Model Chisel is a tool made for carving polystyrene train car models. It has a variety of bits for scribing, scraping or prying and is well-suited for its intended purpose. Some customers have expressed that the wee plastic case needs to have space for the hex wrench and spare set screw, needing to mark the different bits to avoid eye strain, and there being unexpected issues when inserting a new bit involving fumbling. The tool is of high quality but customers need to exercise caution. The chisels were fairly priced, but the Allen key tool for tightening the set screw barely fits into the hex on the screw. Some customers received the smallest chisel damaged, with some not receiving the lock nut for blades. The metal cutters are iron so they will rust, but the users can store them in machine oil and clean before use. While some customers had issues with the product or packaging, the majority seem to have found the tool useful and a great addition to their scale modeling tool box.
