Sikkens Stains SIK22085 Editorial Review
The PPG ProLuxe 23 Top Coat R.E. Wood Finish in the Teak color is a strange product that behaves differently and does not look like varnish. The pigment in the coating largely obscures the grain in the wood resulting in a finish that is not as attractive as stained and varnished wood. However, the coatings are easy to apply with a brush and sanding between coats is not required. The finish only requires overnight curing between coats, but it is still soft at this point. It is unclear how long a full cure takes, but the finish was hard a week later. The ease of refinishing is touted as a virtue of this finish, but the reviewer cannot comment on that aspect.
