The internal dimensions of a 20x30 frame are 20x30, but the presence of a 0.25-inch lip reduces the viewable area to 19.5x29.5 for a 20x30 print. When framing an oil painting that is .75 inches thick and using a clear acrylic sheet, the painting sticks out 1/8 inch in the back and brown paper that is used for painting framing is usually glued to the back of the frame to hold the oil painting in place. The frame is made of pressed wood and does not come with a built-in folding stand. For a 16x20 print and frame, the 16x20 frame is needed, but one should make sure that the depth of the stretcher bar is less than 0.75 inches to avoid protruding out of the frame. There is no matting included with the frame listing, and to fit a 20x24 picture, one must order the appropriate frame size.
