MAM Tactical Knives MAM2A Editorial Review
The MAM Small Folder Drop Point is an affordable and functional pocket knife that has garnered positive feedback for its practicality and aesthetic appeal. Weighing in at a very light design, it is comparable to the well-regarded Opinel knives yet features some unique attributes, particularly its friction folder mechanism. Users appreciate its utilitarian capabilities – perfect for small tasks like slicing fruit, opening boxes, or even skinning small game. The blade is crafted from stainless steel, which, while a bit thin at just over two inches, provides a keen edge for a variety of cutting tasks. Reviews mention that while the blade does not have a locking mechanism, its friction fit with the wooden handle does a decent job of keeping it secure during use. However, many users recommend employing two hands for safer opening and closing. A common piece of advice is to be cautious with moisture, as the beechwood handle can swell if it gets wet, complicating its operational smoothness. Some users noted issues like the blade's alignment and sharpness at the tip, but these were seen as minor concerns Considering the knife's budget-friendly price of around $7. Overall, the MAM Small Folder Drop Point is viewed as an excellent value for everyday carry, particularly if you're after a lightweight, versatile knife without the frills of more expensive counterparts. Its lack of locking mechanism may deter some, but for many, it’s an attractive option that excels at its intended purposes. **
