The CY USB 3.0 to eSATA Adapter is an adapter cable for connecting hard drives with eSATA ports to computers via USB. The adapter cable comes with a DC5V voltage output and is capable of supporting a Power eSATA port, which eliminates the need for additional power supply. The upper row of 7pins inside the interface is eSATA, while the lower 4pin inside the interface is USB. Note that the USB port must be connected to the computer before the Power eSATA port is connected to the hard disk. The adapter cable uses JMiicron chips, but does not support jbod or smart test, and is not bi-directional. Some customers have reported connectivity issues with certain devices, while others have found the adapter cable to be compatible with their hard drives and raid units, delivering transfer speeds that are an improvement over USB connections.
