It is not designed to be a grinder but is great for polishing vehicles and buffing out; it's also used for polishing marble and granite wet. DeWalt is known for making great products, and the DWP849X has a precise speed setting and is heavy-duty. A few reviewers mentioned that the soft start doesn't work properly, that it is heavy, and product slings off toward its surroundings.
