Willsenton Amplifiers Editorial Review
The Willsenton R-35I EL34 x4 Tube Amplifier is an integrated amplifier that does not require a preamp for standard line level inputs but does require a phono preamp or a turntable with a built-in phono preamp to listen to LPs. The remote for the non-Bluetooth version only has volume up or down and mute. The stock Willsenton tubes are made by either Shuguang or Psvane. The amp uses a solid-state rectifier that is not in the signal chain. A DAC may be needed to play mp3 files from a computer. The amp supports mp3 but the Bluetooth version has a DAC that is only used for Bluetooth connections. Only the Bluetooth version of the amp has a DAC, which cannot be used with the AUX inputs that require an analog signal. A USB DAC can be used to connect a Windows laptop to AUX 1. The amp runs fine on a wall voltage of 120 which is nothing to be concerned about.
