While it can cover mistakes or reuse an already painted canvas, it is not clear and will show the image underneath when painted over. The clear gesso in this product is perfect for Paint By Numbers canvas and gives it a better even coverage. Moreover, the product provides a good grip to the surface, making it ideal for painting.
