LLDSIMEX Milling Accessories GZT-6-18 Editorial Review
The reviewed product is a slide table, which allows for light milling on a drill press. Its axis slide ways are rough, and it requires deburring and cleaning. Its adjustable gibs are rusty and too thick. The table is heavy, with a semi-precise X/Y table surface, and has a very good design and decent hardware for the price ratio. Its shipping protection is one of the best witnessed; it is packed in a heavy-duty box with styrofoam core and thin plywood cube layers. It is not metric as some have stated, as its graduations are .001 inches, and one full turn of the handle is .1 inches. The table is made of cast iron and is quite sturdy, with tons of travel. It is reasonably priced, but it is not a product for a rookie, as it requires complete disassembly, sand polishing, filing, and surface areas, which results in smooth action. The X compound axis has a good design but horrible tolerance, with no bushing, while the Y axis only has a solo pedestal, with metal-to-metal contact. Roller bearings have to be bought and installed to provide a precision fit and super smooth X/Y action, but that should have been part of the original design. The product has good value to performance with bearing mods and time. The cons of this product are that it is not machinist-friendly, requires much work, and poor quality control. However, it is a well-designed slide table with tons of travel, reasonable price, and potentially super smooth X/Y action.
