Although it is a little pricey, it is an excellent buy for most amateur users. The meter has good reviews and is made in Japan. It does not detect AC current and has a maximum DC current range of 300mA. The range for DC voltage is 0.3/3/12/30/120/300/600V. Additionally, the Battery Check 1.5V has a lower resistive load of 10 Ω for measurements under load, and the leads are similar to those sold with Hioki's digital meters. This makes it easy to use for measuring small circuits with a battery or a 1.5V DC voltage. The meter does not have a mirror to read the needle accurately, and the test leads don't allow for attachments like the Fluke leads do. Overall, if you are looking for an analog multimeter, the Hioki Electric HiTester 3030-10 is an excellent value from a reputable company.
