Although the meter only displays total kWh, it calculates the kWh using volts x amps x power factor. It records Total kWh, regardless of direction. Therefore, if you pull in 5 kWh from the grid and send out 5 kWh to the grid, the meter will display 10kWh. Installation is relatively simple, but the product does not include a mounting plate.
