The Aegis Padlock 3.0 is a durable and secure portable hard drive with a 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption protecting all the data. The drive generates its own encryption key and without it, the data is inaccessible. The product comes in two options, the A25-3PL256-1000 and A25-3PL256-1000F, the latter being FIPS 140-2 Validated. Users can back up their files, but the drive should not be disconnected abruptly, and the code should be re-entered if USB power is lost. Once unlocked, the drive functions similarly to any other flash drive. The attached USB cable is around 3-4inches long that wraps around the sides of the unit, and it is not replaceable. There is no backdoor, and once data is lost, there is no way to recover it. However, the device works autonomously of the host system and is secure against root-level keyloggers. Users can set their PIN while multiple users can set their own code. Overall, the Aegis Padlock 3.0 portable storage device is easy to use, robust, and secure with a few limitations such as USB cable length issues. With this device, users can protect their sensitive and essential data from theft and unauthorized access.
