The setup process is easy, and the fact that one can view several dozen extra channels in their area is a transparent advantage, which would have been impossible to receive through Dish programming. The device has its limitations, such as the fact that the guide information may not be available for all channels and weaker signals may not be recognized. If a customer has a lot of OTA channels available or experiences similar issues, the OTA tuner along with an OTA antenna is a worthy addition to their Dish Hopper Guide. The editor has concluded that the OTA tuner provides notable benefits with easy installation, an additional set of OTA channels, and the ability to record two OTA channels to the Hopper. However, there are some limitations concerning its recognition of some weak signals and broadcast programming information. The device sometimes runs a bit warm, and one reviewer had to return it for a replacement.
