It has a well-designed handle and is shaving sharp right out of the package. Some users have found its lightweight Construction to be impractical for cutting wood or breaching, but it is great for throwing. The packaging could be better, and some users have found the sheath included to be subpar. The balance and finish of the hawk seem to be spot on. The spike end buries itself into wood with repeated strikes, while the blade does not penetrate as well. This hawk is not suitable as a wood chopper or thrower, and the blade and spike do not have the right angles for controlling an opposing arm or hand.
