Okuma Reels CV-20L Editorial Review
The Okuma Convector Levelwind reel is a heavy-duty saltwater reel, available in a right-hand configuration. Customers have found that it casts well and is perfect for catching medium to large sized fish like catfish, salmon and stripers. The reel has good line capacity for balloon fishing and trolling with copper, lead-core or weighted steel. The Classic GLT rods and the Blue Diamond series trolling rods are recommended for salmon fishing. Although it is a great choice for above the average fisherman, it may not be strong enough to catch big game like marlin, shark or tuna. Durability is an issue for some as some reported that the level wind gear has stripped or the main drive gear broke after just one use. However, others have had the same reels for over 10 years and still found them to be functioning well. The reel comes with a clamp assembly in the box, but not a left hand configuration. Its dimensions are comparable to a Penn Senator 4.0.
