It is single-sided and firm but pliable, making it great for bag making, neck facings, edges that need a little definition, and plackets that will have buttons or buttonholes. It is also effective for lightweight fabrics used in quilting and can be adhered to Harley-Davidson bandanas and handkerchiefs being made into a gift quilt. Though the product is 100% cotton, it is not certain if it is acid-free or archival quality. Some buyers have used this interfacing for clothes that have lasted over 30 years. Proper application of the interfacing prevents the glue from bleeding through and staining the fabric. However, this interfacing may not give the rigidity needed for supporting limp lace ruffles around throw pillows. Instead, a non-woven fusible interfacing is recommended, though it will be visible through the holes of the lace. Alternatively, Mod Podge can be used to harden the lace and keep it rigid.
