This helping hands tool is a great buy for hobbies that require precision or small electronics soldering. The LED light magnifying glass is good but not sufficient enough for extremely small components. The magnifier is powered by standard USB A and the gooseneck is flexible, and the magnets are good enough that it stays where you put it. The plastic alligator clips have sufficient holding force to secure work and plastic tips to prevent scratches. The base has just the right weight to remain steady without the need for a lot of pressure to move it. Some customers found the base a little small for some work but overall the build materials were very solid. The magnets for the magnifying glass and grips are very strong, almost too strong, but the spike stands were not so strong. The metal plate that comes with the product was small and not flexible enough to move close to the base without the magnifier recoiling upward and out of focus. There were complaints about the clamps falling out and rotating, though.
