Heil Sound PL-2T Overhead Broadcast Boom is a mixed bag product with some satisfied users and few unsatisfied ones. The swivel base works best for some people, but it requires clearance holes to be drilled. The arm can stay in any position once weighted but springs up without any weight. It can hold heavy mics like Shure SM7b and Neumann U87 but might struggle with Tube U47 due to its weight. The build quality is impressive, but some users complained of noisy springs or stiffness. One of the significant drawbacks of this arm is that the knob placement is right in the way of the cord when rotated for SM7B users. Overall, the arm works well and is relatively sturdy, but some users have experienced catastrophic failure within a few months of normal use.
