What is the Edge 98604 EAS Universal Turbo Timer?

The Edge 98604 EAS Universal Turbo Timer is an innovative device designed to prevent turbocharger damage by allowing your engine to idle for a set amount of time before shutting off. This timer plays a crucial role in maintaining turbo health by preventing oil starvation when shutting off the engine after vigorous driving. Particularly useful for performance vehicles, the turbo timer enhances overall engine durability and performance longevity.

How does the Edge 98604 Turbo Timer work?

The Edge 98604 Turbo Timer is activated after you turn the ignition off. It continues to run the engine for a preset duration, ensuring the turbocharger cools down properly. This function is vital as turbochargers can experience heat build-up that leads to premature wear and tear. By allowing the engine to idle, users ensure that the oil can circulate and cool down the turbo components effectively, ultimately prolonging the life of the turbo system.

Is the Edge 98604 Turbo Timer compatible with all vehicles?

The Edge 98604 Turbo Timer is designed to be universally compatible with most vehicles, provided they have a 12V ignition system. However, to ensure proper functionality, it is advisable to check your vehicle's specifications and installation requirements. This versatility makes it an appealing choice for car enthusiasts and everyday drivers looking to enhance their turbocharged engines' performance.

Can I customize the timer settings on the Edge 98604?

Yes! The Edge 98604 Turbo Timer allows users to customize the idle time settings according to their preferences, typically ranging from 1 to 8 minutes. This flexibility ensures users can set the timer based on driving style and turbocharger specifications, giving optimal bleeding time for turbo performance. Whether you're driving hard or cruising, you can easily adjust the timer to suit your needs, enhancing engine longevity and reliability.

What are the benefits of using a turbo timer like the Edge 98604?

Using a turbo timer like the Edge 98604 prevents turbocharger damage by allowing your vehicle's engine to idle after hard driving, reducing the risk of oil degradation and heat-related issues. This is especially beneficial for performance vehicles where turbocharger stress is common. Additionally, it provides peace of mind knowing your engine components will maintain their optimal condition and performance over time, securing your investment in high-performance modifications.

How do I install the Edge 98604 Turbo Timer?

Installation of the Edge 98604 Turbo Timer requires basic automotive knowledge as it involves connecting the device to your vehicle's ignition and power sources. Detailed installation instructions are typically included to guide you step-by-step through the process. For best results, consider consulting with a professional mechanic if you're uncertain, ensuring proper integration to maximize the timer's efficacy and functionality for your turbocharged engine.

Edge Products Boost Gauges 98604 Editorial Review

The Edge EAS 98604 is a great accessory for those who own an Edge programmer. It works on all diesels except for the 06-12 Dodge Cummins model, for which Edge has a specific version. The installation is easy, however, running the wires neatly can take some thinking. There are a few questions about compatibility with some vehicle models, so contacting Edge's customer service for verification is recommended. It is unfortunate that this Turbo Timer only works with the CTS monitor and not as a standalone unit. Customers who have used it have found it to be a great purchase that is easy to install, and with synthetic oil, it can help extend the life of their turbo.

“I bought Huckberry Flint & Tinder blazer at Ubuy. My request for a return was rejected at first but later I received an apology message willing to resolve the matter without placing any burden on me. I really appreciate their resolution. The blazer was collected yesterday by DHL couriers on behalf of Ubuy. They can only do a refund and not offer a bigger size as i expected, but i am fine with that too. ”
