Masterbuilt Electric Smokers Editorial Review
The Masterbuilt 8063964 Electric Vertical Smoker is a great unit for smoking meat. One customer cooked great ribs on it, but wished for a bigger smoker. The Bluetooth digital timer was useful but required re-pairing every so often. The unit smokes well with the mixture of Cherry, Maple, and Hickory wood chips used. Another customer was impressed with the precise temperature control, the timer, and the size of the unit. The cleaning process was difficult but manageable so long as wood chips were added every 30-45 minutes. Another customer had mixed experiences with the unit, noting that temperature Consistency was a problem and requiring the unit to be on 275 degrees for the length of the smoke. The unit was also prone to ash build-up, requiring at least one ash dump on an 8-hour smoke. One customer received a damaged unit, and Walmart could only offer a replacement, but the smoker was unable to be disassembled. Another customer had issues with the Bluetooth connection, and paint chipped off within a week of purchase, causing rust to form. All in all, the unit performed well but is not without its flaws.
