The book provides a clear and plausible explanation of the cause of Galerius' failure to perpetuate Diocletian's ruling system and the challenges faced in the period from AD 284 to December 311. One of the main highlights of the book is that it draws interesting portraits of the actions and characters of most of the other less well-known key players. The author's use of numismatic evidence will specifically be very compelling for those interested in the coinage of the time.
