Novation MIDI Controllers AMS-LAUNCHKEY-49 Editorial Review
The Novation Launchkey Mini is an affordable, sturdy and durable MIDI controller that works well with major DAWs, but specifically with Ableton Live. The keyboard provides MIDI signals over USB and doesn't need a DIN midi cable with the device being USB powered. The rubber treads on the buttons keep the keyboard in place and preventing it from sliding while in use. The keyboard has a velocity-sensitive keypad that works perfectly and is very firm, allowing users to pound out beats with as much force as they want. The rubber that covers the pitch and mod wheels are not durable and tend to crumble easily, which may cause issues throughout the device's lifetime. There were a few connectivity issues that some owners have reported. Overall, it is a solid and capable little keyboard that lives up to the job it's designed to do at a very affordable price point.
