Frienda Single Board Computers Editorial Review
The Adafruit OLED display is easy to set up and use with an Arduino Uno. It has a fixed I2C address of 0x3C and has the ability to display temperature. However, it is a monochrome display and can only display in black and white. There is no manual provided with the product, but there are four connection points which can connect to generic I2C LCD information. Buyers should be aware that the screen size is smaller than what is depicted on the product page, and that the pixels are not centered on the glass screen and do not go to the edge. In addition, some pixels in the top two rows may light up when pixels on the third row are lit. The current draw for the device is 4.9 mA with all pixels off, and 27.5 mA with all pixels on. The frame rate with the adafruit library is about 73 fps with the 400khz I2C and about 130 fps with the 800khz I2C. There is no way to change the device's I2C address. Two reviewers have reported receiving DOA units.
