This product is 99% pure reagent grade, providing excellent lubricating properties and making it perfect for use in most engines and firearms. The product is not flammable, does not conduct electricity, and should be used to lubricate bearings and other moving parts. This product is slightly better than graphite for use on a pinewood derby car, especially if rubbed into the surface well and polished. It will find its way into all the micro-pores of the metal and bond there, providing not only lubrication but also a smoother surface. For best results, disassemble the engine and apply the Molybdenum Disulfide directly with a cloth soaked in a mineral oil. If this is not practical, suspend the Moly powder in a carrier fluid, which can be gasoline, mineral spirits, or other volatile hydrocarbon, and then spray or introduce the liquid suspension. Allowing the carrier fluid to flash off while rotating the engine to distribute the moly evenly.
